ANY QUESTIONS?

Here are some of the most frequently asked questions from dentists about using the pola Advanced Tooth Whitening System.

Is pola tooth whitening safe and comfortable for my patients?

Clinical studies have shown that bleaching with carbamide or hydrogen peroxide if done correctly under the application or instruction of a dentist, is perfectly safe for patients’ teeth and gums.

You can reassure your patients by letting them know that pola office+ contains unique built-in desensitising properties that inhibit any post-operative sensitivity. These are designed to protect patients’ sensitive dental nerves and nerve endings via the Pola Desensitising Technology (PDT). The combination of neutral pH and PDT reduces the likelihood of gum irritation, burning, pain or long-term gum damage. pola whitening products also contain fluoride which remineralises the tooth surface assisting in reducing post-operative sensitivity.

How quickly will my patients see the results using pola?

pola office+ contains the fastest bleach available to safely whiten teeth in just 30 minutes at a neutral pH to protect the teeth and gums. No mixing or light is required which means the total treatment is only 45 minutes.

With pola day and pola night take-home whitening systems, optimum whitening results are usually seen between 5 – 14 days.

Are there any patient side-effects to whitening with pola?

If patients follow their dentist’s instructions and follow the instructions for use that come with all pola products, most patients will have no side-effects. Occasionally some patients will experience temporary sensitivity – dull or sharp or sensitivity to hot or cold. This will subside after several hours of stopping the treatment and won’t leave any residual problems. Sensitivity can be reduced with shortened or less frequent wear times or teeth can be treated with a desensitising gel such as pola soothe.

From a dentist’s perspective, to encourage more patients interested in whiter teeth it is important to remind them that only dental professionals registered with the General Dental Council (GDC) can practice tooth whitening and only they can prescribe treatments containing up to 6% hydrogen peroxide and 16% carbamide peroxide, in accordance with EU regulations, that will give truly effective results.
